Here is some of the questions that we are most frequently asked. If you still can’t find what you are looking for, please give us a call, drop us an email or fill our contact form with your enquiry. You will hear from us very soon.

What is an online course with Spanischool like?

Very enjoyable! But if you were hoping to hear more in detail, what we do is understand your own abilities and help you learn from there, so once you have had your trial session you will receive a learning plan specifically designed for you.

What do I need for my classes?

A computer, laptop, tablet or smartphone with internet connection. You will have to allow the use of your camera and microphone. Once you have signed up you will only have to answer the videocall when your teacher calls or you will also be able to join your lessons through a link which we will provide when you book your course. We use different media for our sessions -Skype, Microsoft Teams, Zoom, etc- to maximise the learning in an environment where you feel comfortable.

How do I book my free trial session?

You only need to give us your basic contact details -name and email address or telephone number- and we will get in touch to agree a date and time when you will receive a videocall. The duration of this session is 50 minutes. Fill the form or get in touch here.

Do I have to speak any Spanish before I start?

No, we cater for all learning levels. We will use your current level as a starting point and from there will get you where you want to be.

Will I speak fluent Spanish at the end of my course?

Learning a language is a hard but very rewarding activity. With a little bit of patience and the right amount of work you will achieve the goals we set at the beginning of the course. Being able to speak a foreign language confidently can take a long time but we will make sure you stay motivated and thoroughly enjoy the process. Get in touch for a free assessment of what type of course suits you.

Can I do joint lessons with someone I know or join a group course?

Absolutely! You can learn together with a friend or family member, either from the same location or joining the lesson from different devices. Joint lessons will attract a discount. And we also hold some group courses for different levels and interests, with a maximum of seven learners per session. If you are a company that want some of your employees to speak Spanish we can create a group for them to learn together. Is my child too little to start learning Spanish?

Research shows that children can be introduced to more than one language at any time from birth. It is never too early to start as introducing them to a bilingual background will -according to the research- help your child learn faster and easier in other aspects of life, have improved problem solving skills and creativity, be more open-minded as an adult and less likely to experience age-related mental illness. It is also much easier to learn a second language at an early age than in adulthood.

What is very important for you to consider -and paramount to us- is that your child is exposed to this learning in an age-appropriate way within a safe comfortable environment. We use child-friendly videocall apps that allow us to interact with your little ones the way they need, and introduce them to all sort of activities that develop their language skills. Parents or tutors are present during sessions with little children and can be given tools to continue the learning experience between sessions. Find out more about our  Spanish for children

What is the duration of each class?

Standard adult lesson is 90 minutes. Babies & preschool lessons are 20 minutes. School age children start at 30 minutes and can go up to 60 minutes. For teenagers and exam preparation we recommend at least 60 minutes’ sessions. But at Spanischool we think adaptability is key so we will assess your needs and design the course plan that suits you best, looking at the number of sessions, the frequency and the duration of each.

How do I pay for my courses?

The first session, which is for assessment and trial, is free. You will not be asked for any payment at this stage. After that session you will book your learning plan and can then they pay for the whole course in advance or on monthly payments at the beginning of each month. We accept PayPal payments or bank transfers.

What happens if I am unable to attend a lesson?

You will have to notify your teacher as soon as possible, and at least three hours before the start of the lesson. You will agree with your teacher a new date and time so you don’t miss out on your learning. Full terms and conditions will be provided when you sign in for your course.
